When Eiri discovers an old painting in the antique shop he works in, he finds himself entranced by the young girl in the picture. But the painting is haunted and unexplainable and terrible things have happened to the previous owners - will Eiri suffer the same fate?

This is Le Portrait de Petite Cossette, one of the many new mangas from TOKYOPOP. Our story starts with Eiri Kurahashi, an art school student and part-time employee at the local antique shop. He finds a Victorian painting of a girl named Cossette - beautiful, but rumored to be deadly. Everyone who has owned the painting has been murdered in unusual ways. Then Eiri learns that Cossette herself was murdered by her lover, the same man who painted the picture. Its then that Cossette's spirit appears to Eiri and asks him to save her. How can he refuse?

Based on the popular anime, Le Portrait de Petite Cossette is a gothic and romantic thriller with plenty of page-turning moments. Created by Asuka Katsura, Le Portrait is produced by TOKYOPOP and rated OT for older teens (18+). Volume 1 hit your favorite manga shelves on July 11th and Volume 2 is due out in November, 2006.
