Josh Kim is a hopeless flirt fresh out of high school, working as a bookseller, who wants nothing more than to earn the love of his crush, Nicole Hayes. Nicole Hayes is a business student who works part times as a receptionist at a graphic design firm, and who wants nothing more than write her fantasy story. Josh vows to help Nicole attain her goal by helping her get her short story published in a fantasy lit magazine, and they work together to get it in before submissions are closed. In the mean time their friends and the world around them seem to continuously get in the way of the completion of their masterpiece, and of them finding each other.

Interwoven with the story is Nicole's own fantasy which is a direct reflection of her inner turmoil in finding her identity and her true calling in life. As they deal with the social stresses of daily living, Josh and Nicole find that love is more than just a game of flirting, and there's a struggle to have the courage to embrace their feelings honestly.

This is the story behind Sorcerers & Secretaries, one of the many new mangas from TOKYOPOP. Created by Amy Kim Ganter (Reman Mythology), Sorcerers & Secretaries captures the plight of self-discovery and the pain of young love. Nicole Hayes may be working at a design firm, but she's got her heart set on getting published. Little does she know that Joshua Kim pines only for her and will do anything to get a little closer. But Josh has a little competition - The Sorcerer - a nameless character in Nicole's fantasy story who sometimes appears in reality during her daydreams. Now, how's a guy supposed to compete with that?

A lighthearted and fun read, Sorcerers & Secretaries is a great addition to your shojo manga collection. Volume 1 is currently at your favorite manga stores and Volume 2 will hit the streets in July. But in the meantime, you can grab a sneek peek at TOKYOPOP's online manga player.
