Happy anime new year!

Its a new year and you know what that means: new resolutions, new taxable income and yes, new anime.

ADV Films has been quite the busy bee, offering several new dvds to kick off the new year. Angelic Layer, Full Metal Panic and Saiyuki all have new volumes coming out on the 6th. Also look for the Director's cut of Neon Genesis Evangelion: Resurrection on the 16th.

Other new releases include Brigadoon Volume 5 from TOKYOPOP, Big O II Volume 1 from Bandai and Yu Yu Hakusho Volume 20 from FUNimation.

Anime on DVD is starting the new year off with a bang by offering a brand new contest where you can win a brand new DVD. Put your creative caps on and write your best poem or limerick to win a copy of Captian Herlock. A new series from Geneon, this has the makings of a great anime series for 2004.

Central Park Media has also jumped into the frenzy by releasing their new anime, The Humanoid. Featured in Madonna's tour, this promises to be an instant favorite among anime sci-fi fans.

Another great tidbit for anime lovers - TOKYOPOP has announced their third Rising Stars of Manga contest. Think you've got what it takes? Check out the rules at http://www.tokyopop.com/news/mangatalent/index.php and see.
