Hayao Miyazaki

Born January 5, 1941, Hayao Miyazaki is known world-wide for his anime creations.

The genius behind anime greats such as Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro, Miyazaki has provided a continuous stream of top-notch anime entertainment. His most recent project, Howl's Moving Castle, grossed 1.4 billion Yen in its first two days at the Japanese box office. The English version hit the US through Disney in June, 2005.
