Edward Elric is one of two brothers on Fullmetal Alchemist, an exciting new anime from FUNimation.
A state-certified alchemist, Edward is both hot-tempered and impatient, balanced by his brother's (Alphonse) easy and caring nature. While attempting to bring someone back from the dead, the brothers ignore a primary rule of alchemy where the alchemist must give something of equal cost to manipulate the new creation. As a result, Edward loses both and arm and part of his leg. Alphone's body is gone completely but Edward manages to trap his soul in an armour suit. Together, the two brothers set out on a journey to find the Philosopher's Stone, a magical amplifier that can assist with their alchemy plans.
