Shuffle! - Anime Series Profile

The Story: Rin is an ordinary boy until two new supernatural neighbors decide to move next to him. Now he's got daughters from both sides vying for his attention. But in addition to his two supernatural beauties, he also has an old school friend staying in the house and yep, you guessed it - she's got a crush on him too. Who would you choose?

The Gist: Two doors in an ancient ruin are opened, connecting the worlds of the supernatural to that of mortal man. Not long after, Rin Tsuchimi discovers he has new neighbors - the King of the Gods living on one side and the King of the Demons on the other. The daughters of these supernatural kings have their sights set on marrying Rin and are willing to cater to his every whim to win his favor. But Rin already had an old school friend staying with him two and she's not about to let these newcomers squeeze her out of the picture. And if that's not stressful enough, there's a few other girls lining up to become his bride.

The Review: Shuffle! is based upon a PC game by the same name that allowed players to make decisions that would affect Rin's ultimate choice. It was later adapted into a manga by Kadokawa Shoten and then into an anime series, directed by Naoto Hosoda which was released in Japan in 2005.

In Shuffle!, young Rin is put in the position of choosing between a number of women, all vying for his love and willing to do just about anything to get it. This harem-fantasy has all the makings of a fun, comedic watch but be forewarned: Shuffle! is rated for mature audiences - this one is definitely not for the younger fans.
