The Bottom Line

I think this series has potential but its moving a little slower than I'd like. While I'm all for character development, DVD 2 takes that concept a little too seriously and we're left with a collection of episodes in which not a whole lot really happens. Still, its a fun and lighthearted story - enough to make me tune in for DVD 3.

Guide Review - Shuffle! DVD 2

In the second DVD of the Shuffle! series, we are graced with three episodes devoted to Rin's girlfriends.

This wouldn't be so bad if something enticing were going on but unfortunately, its not.

That said, Shuffle! hasn't lost its sense of humor and I still found myself giggling now and then. I'm also equally impressed with the artwork and animation, two assets that I noticed in DVD 1 as well.

Is it worth your time?

If FUNimation takes this series where I think it could go, then yes - its worth your time, even sitting through the less-than-exciting episodes early on. Its not an OMG! kind of anime but rather an easy-going watch that generally has me smiling at the television while tuning in.

Its also a bit racy (although not to the extent that it could be) and it still features that quirky collection of characters that gives it part of its appeal. So I'm on the fence with this one. Don't rush to buy it, but do get around to watching it sooner or later.
