The Story: Being the new girl at school is never easy, just ask Momo Adachi. With her golden hair and tan, toned body, you would think she'd have a pretty easy time of it. But when your "best friend' spends most of her day trying to show you up, going after anything you want, you can't be too careful...
The Gist: Peach Girl is a fun shojo anime that tells the story of Momo Adachi. At first glance, Momo has all the makings of a prom queen but instead of being popular, she only has one friend so far: Sae. Sae wants whatever she thinks Momo wants and this competitiveness creeps up in everything, from clothing and accessories to boys. So, when Sae starts quizzing Momo about who she likes, Momo knows she'd better distract her manipulative friend quick!

The Review: With some very bold colors and edgy animation, Peach Girl is a fun and lively series that I really like. Capturing the essence of what its like to be a teenage girl, Peach Girl reminds us of those memorable but painful days of high school, where everyone is your "best friend forever", at least until you turn your back.
Its also a great peek inside the various cliques and personalities. Momo should have every thing going for her but instead gets shunned by the student body. Her friend Sae on the other hand, is as manipulative as they come but is one of the most popular girls in school. And while Momo knows her friend isn't trustworthy, Sae is the only friend she's got so she does her best to overlook her competitive back-stabbing antics. But when Sae starts asking Momo who she likes, Momo knows she can't tell the truth. Instead, she points out Kari Okayasu, a true "player" in every sense of the word. True to form, Sae confronts Kari about Momo's affections and Kari decides to pursue Momo. Unfortunately, Momo really likes Kazuya Toujigamori but is so caught up in what everyone else thinks that she doesn't have time to think for herself.
Based on the original manga by Miwa Ueda, Peach Girl is funny and spirited with just a little teenage meanness thrown in for good measure.
