The Review:

Horror anime just seems to be the thing these days, doesn't it?

While Hell Girl won't always leave you wondering what will happen next, it is a good buy if you just want something a little scary.

No one knows much about the mysterious Hell Girl, only that she lives with an equally strange grandmother and she has three voo-doo looking dolls that do her bidding.

On any given day, the Hell Correspondence website can't be found but when the clock strikes midnight, you'd better watch out. Of course, nothing is free and it seems that Hell Girl has as much vengence to reap as any of her readers so while they may enjoy some temporary elation at the thought of their least favorite person rotting in eternal hell, they'll be joining their not-friend soon.

The animation is gorgeous in a dark and creepy sort of way and the characters are fairly well developed considering that each episode starts a whole new chapter.

Is it a keeper? Although I haven't yet added it to my all-time favorites list, you will find it on my must-have spooky animes list that comes out this Halloween. Its ghastly, ghoulish and wickedly fun. And of course, a little thought-provoking... I mean, would you trade your soul to gain revenge?
