TOKYOPOP Announces Winners to Fifth Rising Stars of Manga Contest

TOKYOPOP has announced the winners to its Rising Stars of Manga Contest.

Taking the $2500 grand prize is writer Joshua Elder (Illinois) and illustrator Erich Owen (Tennessee) for their collaboration, Mail Order Ninja, a creative and funny story about a boy and his pet ninja.

Roald Munoz (Illinois) took second place with Baggage and netted $1,500 for his troubles. Third place and a $1,000 prize went to George Alexopoulos (New Jersey) for his contribution, Can I Sit Here?.

New to this contest was the People's Choice Award, chosen from twenty finalists. TOKYOPOP posted the finalists' entries online and allowed the fans - the true judges of new manga - to make their picks.
