Okay my anime enthusiasts... its time to brush off your resumes. I just got an email from a guy looking to fill two spots in a new anime/manga publishing company in Dallas. No, its not FUNimation and sorry... but I don't have a ton of details on the company. The spokesperson stated that they aren't quite ready to announce the company launch just yet so all I can give you is what was passed on to me. Both are full-time positions located in Dallas, TX. Benefits include 401(k), health and dental. The company is a publisher and distributor of home entertainment software, video games, DVD video and music through majority-owned subsidies. News Editor
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Our new online publishing company is seeking an experienced editor/writer with a simultaneous passion for the internet and Japanese animation to join a new online initiative in the anime industry as News Editor. The News Editor will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining a database of important news sources and industry contacts
- Writing daily online content, such as news, previews, features, interviews and more
- Generating news leads and feature ideas
- Content editing and copyediting content from other staff writers and freelance writers
- Regularly monitoring and proofreading the site
- Interacting with readers through articles, comments, forums and personal blogs
- Traveling and reporting on industry events
- Working with the editorial team and industry contacts to develop exclusive content
Research Assistant
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Our new online publishing company is seeking a recent college graduate with a simultaneous passion for the internet and Japanese animation to join a new online initiative in the anime industry as Research Assistant. This entry-level position will help develop, maintain and regulate an editorial database of anime series information. The Research Assistant will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining a database of important news sources and industry contacts
- Writing daily database content concerning anime and manga series
- Content editing and copyediting database content from a variety of writers
- Regularly monitoring and proofreading the site
- Interacting with readers through comments, forums and personal blogs
