Goku
The main character (and hero) of our story, Goku is a Saiyan sent to Earth from
Planet Vegeta. Father to Gohan and
Goten, husband of Chi-Chi, and inspiration to just about everyone else.
Fuses with Vegeta to form Gogeta (1st time)
and Vegeto (2nd fusion).
Gohan
Son of Goku and Chi-Chi (which makes him half Saiyan, half human), husband of
Videl, father of Pan. We get to
watch Gohan grow up in DBZ and grow up he does. When Cell attacks the
other Z-fighters, Gohan unleashes a
power even he didn’t know existed. Bye, bye Cell!
Vegeta
Prince of the Saiyans (you’ll hear him say this all too often). Husband
to Bulma, father of Trunks. A powerful
fighter, just always one step behind Goku which (and amusingly so) infuriates
his Highness. Vegeta has a huge
ego and a warm heart. He just shows his ego much more often.
Krillin
Krillin is a monk (human) and is Goku's best friend. He is killed by
Frieza, causing Goku to lose control and transform
into a Super-Saya-Jin for the first time.
Piccolo
A Namek, Piccolo was originally a bad guy until the good and bad “selfs”
separated from one another. Gohan is
his best friend and he is best known for the Special Beam Cannon technique.
Trunks
Half Saiyan, half human, Trunks is the love-child of Vegeta and Bulma.
When his world is destroyed by Dr. Gero and
the Androids, he travels back in time to warn Goku and the others to give them
an edge in the future. Trunks fuses with
Goten as a child to form Gotenks.
Goten
Son of Goku and Chi-Chi, Goten is half Saiyan and half human. He's born
after Goku dies in the battle with Cell and
doesn't meet his dad until Goku returns on a special repreive from the Other
World to compete in the martial arts
tournament.
Chaozu
Although the least powerful of the bunch, Chaozu was an emporer in the original
Dragon Ball and is a close friend of
Tien.
Tien
A Z-fighter and Chaozu's bodyguard, Tien is not Saiyan and never reaches such
super strength. He is, however, a
trooper and even manages to hold Cell down while Androids 16 and 18 escaped.
Yamcha
Boyfriend to Bulma for a while, Yamcha is an excellent fighter but nowhere near
Saiyan strenth. Like Tien,
however, he doesn't give up and helped Gohan in the final battle with Cell.
Kami
The good half of God, Kami split into two beings in Dragon Ball to rid himself
of his evil half. The result was Piccolo
Damou, the evil half, who was eventually killed by Goku. Before dying, he
gave birth to the Piccolo we all know and
love, and the two are now spiritually linked. This means that if one dies,
so does the other. Kami is also the creator
of the dragon balls.
Dendi
When Kami fuses with Piccolo to create a Super Namek in the Cell Sage, the Earth
needs another protector. Enter
Dendi, a namek with special healing powers that can restore life.
