| What's going on in Anime? Here's your latest updates. | ||||||||||||
March, already?? Here's your monthly dose of Anime updates. On the Big Screen Cowboy Bebop fans will love this one. Sony Pictures has released the official website for Cowboy Bebop: The Movie. Coming to theaters next month, Spike and gang will take on their biggest adventure yet. The website still needs a little fleshing out, but just the thought of seeing Mr. Spiegel splashed across the big screen makes it well worth the wait. On the Streets New releases are abound... where o' where to do I start? How about with a little DBGT? That's right.. Dragon Ball GT will be hitting stores via DVD on April 15th. Check out FUNimation's new official website and be sure to take a peek at the trailer. To wet your whistle in anticipation of the March 4th release of Neo Ranga, ADV Films has launched the official website for your viewing pleasure. Complete with bios, storyline and even a DVD sneak peek, the site has plenty to keep you busy until the release. Also out this month, Bandai Entertainment is releasing Volume One of .hack//SIGN. The bonus? You can grab it with the limited edition artbox that includes some other exclusive goodies. But only if you hurry... limited edition, remember? On the Tube I mentioned last week that Yu Yu Hakusho would be moving to Toonami starting March 3rd. As an extra bonus, FUNimation is sweetening the deal even more. In celebration of YYH moving to Toonami (Cartoon Network), FUNimation is giving away 25 DVD box sets (MSRP $99.95) of The Spirit Detective saga; one for each of the 25 episodes in the box set. Just go to www.yuyuhakusho.com and follow the link to the sweepstakes. To enter, you must answer 5 multiple choice questions from the 5 shows played that week. Your entry will be entered into a weekly drawing for 5 DVD box sets given each week for 5 weeks. Limit one entry, per person, per week. The promotion (and the episodes) begin March 3rd. Also on Cartoon Network, rumor has it that Trigun is coming to Adult Swim -- possibly with an April release date. I'll let you know once I get the details confirmed. And, for those of us who still can't get enough anime, ADV Films will be launching a 24 hour anime channel called, appropriately, the Anime Network. Word has it that we may see it as soon as the next few months. Can you say sweet?
