A journalist from the world of information technology who's been enjoying and talking about anime for nearly twenty years.
Serdar's been writing about anime for over a decade, both on his own and for Advanced Media Network's anime subdivision. He's been attending major anime-themed conventions regularly since 2001, has interviewed a number of luminaries in the field, from voice actors to screenwriters, and participated in panel discussions and roundtables on a variety of anime-, manga- and Japanese popular culture-themed subjects.
By Serdar Yegulalp:
Anime's large; it contains multitudes. The number of shows out there, the length of the average series -- where do you start, and what's worth watching? To that end, I'll be focusing on the very best the field has to offer -- the most fun, the most fulfilling, the most unusual, the things most worth seeking out and knowing about.
Along the way I'll also be drawing on my knowledge of Japan generally to talk about the roots of the shows we all enjoy -- from earlier anime, to other elements of Japanese popular culture, to Japan's own historic past.
