Anime Review: 'Bleach: Hell Verse'

By December 12, 2012

Follow me on:

The underworld is no safe place to play alone. That's why Ichigo isn't descending into Hell by himself to save his sister, but bringing a few of his best buddies from the Soul Society along for the ride. But even that is no guarantee he, or any of the others, will make it back alive.

That's the premise for the newest feature-length movie for the Bleach franchise, Hell Verse (compare prices) which has come our way on both Blu-ray Disc and DVD thanks to VIZ.

Aside from its long-running TV series, Bleach has already spawned three other feature films -- Memories of Nobody, The DiamondDust Rebellion, and Fade to Black. While each of them had drastically different plotlines, all used the Bleach universe and cast to create a side story that works in parallel to the main storyline of the TV series. All were created with the oversight of the original author and artist, Tite Kubo, but are entirely their own animal. (Or, rather, anime!)

Check out what we thought of Hell Verse in our full review.
