Back in September Crunchyroll carried word that a live-action TV adaptation of the supernatural fantasy/horror anime xxxHOLiC (compare prices) would be broadcasting in 2013.
Now some additional details have surfaced, also courtesy of Crunchyroll: a few more members of the cast, and a general idea of the scope of the show.
Adapted from CLAMP's ongoing manga of the same name, xxxHOLiC featured a young man, Watanuki, afflicted with the ability to interact with the spirit world. In the hope of ridding himself of his power, he makes a contract with Yuuko, the owner of a trans-dimensional antique shop, and discovers that nothing -- especially not what he wants -- comes without a cost.
So far the cast consists of:
Watanuki: Shota Sometani (Wolf Children, Devilman, Ping Pong)
Yuuko: Anne Watanabe (Ninja Kids!!!, Yokai Ningen Bem)
Doumeki Shizuka: Masahiro Higashide
Kunogi Himawari: Karen Miyazaki (GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka [2012])
Director: Kisuke Toyoshima (Ten Nights of Dreams [segment], Tales of Terror)
The series is slated to run for eight fifty-minute episodes. No word yet has surfaced about a possible international broadcast, although it's likely it might surface on either Viki or Crunchyroll's drama channels.
