Are you ready? Get your guns on!
With those words (spoken in English, no less!), the Western world was introduced to the gleeful excess of Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings. Adapted from Capcom's equally rollicking video game series, which took the martial history of the sixteenth-century samurai and turned it into a stylized beat-'em-up, the anime retold the struggles of various samurai generals competing to conquer Japan.
Now the two seasons of the anime have a feature-film follow-up: Sengoku Basara: The Last Party (compare prices), a ninety-minute movie that picks up where the series left off to provide its own idiosyncratic and outlandishly staged retelling of the critical Battle of Sekigahara.
