Last weekend I braved the crowds and became one with the hordes (100,000 strong!) for the sake of covering New York Comic-Con 2011 -- also known as New York Anime Festival 2011.
There was almost too much anime-related content to choose from -- the screenings, the panel discussions, the hosted personalities. Some of it also mirrored events at previous shows, such as Makoto Shinkai's appearance and Dai Sato's as well. But apart from a rundown of the major anime-themed panels and an image gallery of all the goings-on, I also sat down with Junko Takeuchi, she who is the voice of Naruto, for an exclusive interview.
Check out our coverage, and if you were lucky enough to make it to the convention yourself, sound off in the comments below.

I was one of the lucky ones that get to work with FUNimation when they come to the East Coast, and I have to say, the turnout was fantastic! Had the primary cast member/voice actors for the Americanized Fairy Tail, along with the Director, at a panel, which was packed!…We even had the creator of Fairy Tail flown in from Japan! It was fantastic to see all of the cosplayers and fans, many of whom have been coming for years, and every time, they return to say hi at the FUNi booth.
AnimeFest also gives me a chance to cosplay as some of my favorite charaters, like Ed from FMA, Hei from Darker than Black, Natsu from Fairy Tail, and more.
