She is right, you are never too old to watch anime. These are NOT cartoons. Most anime have a plot, character depth, despair, triumph, love, hate, consenquences and benefits of choices, both long and short term. Some anime are written up BETTER then some shows on tv these days, so, explain the difference to them and let them watch a few classics, vampire hunter d, Heavy metal (kinda?), and series stuff, ikara, inuyasha, and full metal alchemist. All are great examples of different genres in anime.

I’m with Dan C., I watch anime partly because the content is better and more novel than the the same old recycled junk on TV. Some of the plots and characters are pretty far out there, but that’s what makes it fun! I’m in my mid-thirties and I would never let a friend shame me into giving up something I really enjoy. I think reality TV is completely pointless, but I realize that many people love it; it’s just a matter of personal preference. Your lucky to have friends who do share your love of anime, enjoy it with them!
I watch anime as much as I can 24-7 if I had my way. I also read manga all the time. I just turned 47. So I say watch on. I watch Naruto every week and love it. He reminds me of my son who is also a ramen nut. My friends humor me about this but my best friend supports me and has even read some of the manga I finish. I will probably be 90 and still watching anime and not caring what anyone thinks. Do what you want that’s what makes us each unique.
Okay, yea for you guys for sticking up for your anime! I don’t think we’re ever too old to have fun and its nice to hear others voice the same opinion
You can never be too old to watch anime. I am 18 now and I plan on watching anime til the end lol. Anime is just the way of life. It’s like soap operas in cartoon form. so cool. I hope that when I have kids they will be interested in watching anime like I am
