Happy Monday everyone! Let's see what's happening this week in anime! :)
Ghost in the Shell will be making a second appearance at select theaters in Japan on July 12th. The Mamoru Oshii masterpiece will be in an enhanced 2.0 edition that includes new digital effects and graphics as well as a new 6.1 surround sound audio. Randy Thom (Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, The Incredibles) handled the new soundtrack.
FUNimation Entertainment is joining the podcasting revolution by kicking off the FUNimation Update, a monthly podcast full of the lastest FUNimation news. You can catch an all new show each month along with weekly updates. Just visit the FUNimation website.
The exclusive Bleach The Movie: Memories of Nobody two-day event will also feature two very special guests - Bleach character designer Masashi Kudo and Producer Ken Hagino will be on-hand to answer questions from the audience before the show. There's also free gifts for the first 100 fans to show up for the movie. This special event takes place on June 11 and 12 at the Regal Union Square Stadium 14 in New York City.
And last but certainly not least, here's some new download news: Toei Animation is offering English subs of Slam Dunk and Fist of the North Star for download on Direct2Drive. Episodes are available for $1.99 each.
