Happy Sunday everyone... hope you enjoyed your weekend! Here's what's happening in anime this week:
The World Cosplay Summit has scheduled the final round of competition for August 3, 2008 at the Oasis 21 complex in Nagoya, Japan. Thirteen national cosplayer teams will compete in this last round - finalists from Denmark, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Thailand and the United States have already been chosen while teams from Brazil, China, France, Japan and Singapore are still waiting.
FUNimation Entertainment has announced a few exciting new acqusitions - Romeo X Juliet, Shigurui: Death Frenzy and D. Gray-man, all scheduled to be released in 2009.
To kick off the live-action Death Note film, VIZ Media has partnered with Hot Topic to give away free tickets to the movie. Just visit a participating Hot Topic store and purchase a Death Note t-shirt or DVD. Free tickets are good while supplies last and you'll need to get there quickly because the two-night film event is on May 20th and 21st in 300 select cities nationwide.
